Jeff T. Johnson

Always a pleasure to visit the skirblog. I wonder how Richard Sherman's showmanship might be read along with this. I've been thinking about his post-NFC-game persona, which seemed both meticulously crafted and gonzo, compared to subsequent pressers in which he spoke calmly (but also passionately) about his background, the assumptions people make about him, and the barely concealed subtext (or euphemism) of "thug." He's been praised by some as an antidote to bland, cautious, meaningless athlete interviews, though it's pretty clear that he's playing a part (the outspoken but well-rehearsed athlete-performer). RHCP could at least have aspired to that at halftime.
